Roger Wade from Travis County Sheriff’s Office
The Travis County Sheriff’s Office offers a Close Patrol Program for those who are going out of town and want to let our patrol deputies know to keep an eye on your property and give them a way to contact you if something should happen. To start the process go to our website at www.tcsheriff.org and click on the Close Patrol link in the Services box. You will then see a form with the directions on how to email or print and fax the form to the Sheriff’s Office. If you cannot fill out the form you can call 512-854-9728 during business hours (8am-5pm Monday through Friday), or our dispatch office at 512-974-0845, after hours (including weekends and holidays). If you are going away for a long period of time please note that the forms must be renewed every 30 days
Once the form has been submitted patrol deputies will be informed and will check by as often as they can depending on call volume. Signing up for a close patrol will not guarantee that nothing will happen at your home while you are away. However it does give a way for you to be contacted if something does happen and you will know that a deputy will be checking by as often as they can while you are gone.
The following form is one that the Sheriff’s Office uses to inform Patrol Officers when residents in their patrol area will be out of town and to keep an eye out on their property. To prevent last minute issues and questions
This would be applicable to properties outside of the City of Austin, like 10709 Valley Vista Road.
